Local Rivers
Shenandoah
Class 2-4 (Water Dependent)
Much like John Denver the MDCC calls the Shenandoah river home. Whether you hear someone in MDCC mention the staircase, the Doah, Bridge to Bridge, BTB, or a Millville run they're talking about the beautiful Shenandoah river. This scenic river located along historic Harper's Ferry offers a playground of whitewater appropriate for all paddlers. At low levels (0-3ft.) it makes for a great beginner friendly training ground. Medium levels (3-7ft.) invite hours of endless surfing, and high levels (7-25ft.) create a challenge that draws big water enthusiasts from all over.

Potomac "Needles"
Class 2
This stretch of river offers scenic views of Harper's Ferry and the surrounding Appalachian mountains. Not only is this river beautiful, but it offers a perfect beginner friendly whitewater run. This river is a great option for newer paddlers or as a low water backup to the Shenandoah. Typically ran between 0.5-4ft. this river can start to wash out with higher water, but is still navigable when under a foot. If you are new to the club and looking for an introduction this is a perfect option.
